Robert Steadward, OC, AOE (born May 26, 1946)〔(Dr. Robert Steadward ) at the Canada's Sports Hall of Fame〕 is a Canadian "author, sport scientist, manager, counsellor, consultant and community volunteer", who was the founding president of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), which he presided from 1989 to 2001.〔("First Torchbearers" ), Vancouver 2010 official website〕 Prior to that, he had founded the Canadian Sports Fund for the Physically Disabled in 1979.
